Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha were also at the meeting, which was attended by Naidu, PMN and others. The meeting was called to discuss the progress report. Naidu expressed his concerns over the need for “credible and constructive engagement” with the opposition. He also expressed the views regarding issues related to infrastructure and development which needed to be worked out.

During the meeting, both Sushma Swaraj and Parrikar agreed to form a select committee on economic issues, with an aim towards bringing about consensus and making economic reforms.
